FLOKI - Error Correction and Entering Complex Usernames and Passwords

OOPS!  FLOKI Error Correction System

As they say, "to err is human."  With FLOKI, one of the most important things that we had to take into consideration is that the design works in small space.  Naturally, everyone's chances of mistyping with FLOKI will go up.  With a two-stage process, there's a chance of stumbling at the first hurdle and accidentally calling up the wrong screen or set of letters, numbers or characters.  We've built in a process that let's users reset to the "front" screen by pressing the bottom two buttons.  The video below shows how this is done, as well as the basic functions of the BACKSPACE and ENTER.

Entering Complex Usernames and Passwords

One advantage of FLOKI is that it uses a single process for the entry of all letters, numbers, and special characters, including capital letters.  We all know that blending a variety of different letters, numbers, and characters helps improve the strength of your usernames and passwords.  Yet, entering these usernames and passwords is especially cumbersome when you have to switch between virtual keyboards.  The worst aspect to this problem is having to scroll across a screen to input usernames and passwords on a Bluray/SmartTV with a remote control.  Here's our video showing the process, including the capacity to 'lock' the keyboard in number mode.

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON FOR 2015

This will be our last post with this version of the FLOKI system. We are preparing to launch a new version in 2015, one that uses swipe gestures almost exclusively.  Our 2015 version will mean that the user's finger never has to leave the touchscreen surface in order to type.
